CORPORATE GOVERNANCE

Alxar is an investment company whose main shareholder is Empresas Copec S.A.

After consolidation in the country with its main business areas, Empresas Copec made the strategic decision to diversify its corporate development, investing in metal mining, but maintaining its focus on energy and natural resources.

Thus, in 1991 Empresas Copec ventured into mining through the purchase of properties owned by Can-Can and others from Chevron Inc. Subsequently, the Board of Shareholders and its Board of Directors strengthened the existing human and technical team to establish what is currently Alxar.
