Marcobre – Mina Justa

Mina Justa is a copper deposit with a projected life of mine of more than 16 years. It’s an open pit mine and processing is carried out in two plants, one for copper oxides and the other for copper sulfides.

Mina Justa is located in the province of Nasca, department of Ica, district of San José de Marcona. At a distance of 530 kms. south of Lima, and 60 kms. from the Pacific Ocean, It is in the desert at an altitude between 600 and 800 meters above sea level.

History

Mina Justa is operated by Marcobre, a company owned by the Peruvian mining holding company Minsur (60% ownership) and Alxar Internacional (40%).
Construction started in mid-2018 and commercial operation began in March 2021.

Features

Mina Justa is a mining operation with a projected life of mine (LOM) of more than 16 years.

The projected average annual production during the LOM is 95 thousand tons of fine copper.

In 2024, Mina Justa produced 123,765 tons of fine copper and production for 2025 is projected at around 130,000 tons.
